The multi-national information technology corporation, Dell Inc., develops, manufactures, markets and supports personal computers and other computer-related equipments and softwares. Starting from a humble beginning in 1984, the company releases its own Turbo PC in 1985. By selling custom-built PCs directly to consumers, Dell managed to cut cost enabling the company to offer quality PCs at competitive prices.
The company grew quickly, it went public in 1988 and continued to expand into international markets. By 2006, Dell ranked as the 25th largest company in the Fortune 500.
